NCP press release 07-21-2016

The Moroccan NCP was seized on March 18, 2016 by a Complainant of Franco-Moroccan nationality who implicates a multinational of Swiss origin, operating in the insurance sector.

 

The referral targets three guiding principles: publication of information, human rights and the protection of consumer interests.

 

Upon completion of the initial review of the facts and evidence provided by the complainant, the NCP found no violation of the Guidelines by the company and terminated the initial assessment.

 

The NCP closed the referral after its initial assessment by declaring it inadmissible for:

  • Lack of connection between the elements cited by the Complainant as being shortcomings and the OECD guidelines for multinational companies.
  • Lack of elements, documentation and evidence to establish the negative impacts and consequences that should result from the Company’s failures.

NCP press release 31-10-2016

The Moroccan NCP was seized on June 2, 2016 by a Complainant of Franco-Moroccan nationality who implicated his former employer, an international audit firm.

The specific circumstance filed against the employer relates to Chapters III, IV, and V of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, relating to the publication of information, employment and industrial relations, and human rights.

As part of the examination of the admissibility of this referral, the Moroccan NCP carried out an initial assessment of the interest of the questions raised to determine whether they merited further study. Following the examination of the documents provided by the parties concerned, the NCP closes the specific circumstance by declaring the referral inadmissible for:

  • Lack of connection between the elements cited by the complainant as breaches and the OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises.
  • Lack of elements, documentation and evidence to establish the negative impacts and consequences that should arise due to the failings of the company.
